ATTIC 008_The Fortune Frames

ATTIC 008_The Fortune Frames

A pair of thrifted deep red frames reworked by Attic Society. Each contains an original tarot-inspired illustration created for the frames, mounted over a blue pattern traditionally associated with the backs of tarot cards.

The pair features The Magician and The Empress.

CURATOR’S NOTE
The frames were found. The fortunes were made.

I knew I loved the frames, the color and the curves, but wanted to make something that matched them. At the time I was working on this collection of different tarot cards and those two jumped out as a perfect match for me. I also printed a blue pattern usually seen in the back of tarot cards for the backing, I love that detail.

These lived on our walls for about a year before we decided they were ready for somebody else’s.
